Basma launches a campaign to support children with cancer
On May 2nd, Basma Association for Supporting Children with Cancer launched the ‘One Million Basma’ campaign.
The campaign is a fundraising one to support the continuation of free medical treatment services for children with cancer.
The campaign entitled “ Our life is in your hands” will continue until the end of this year to collect one million donations, each of which is worth one thousand pounds .The donations are made through a mobile message or by depositing an amount in several banks as well as allocating points for donations such as universities, schools, malls, markets, restaurants and other places in various governorates.
The Million Basma campaign is the second, as it launched a similar campaign in 2019 and aims to secure operating expenses for the association’s programs, which last year amounted to about 1.4 billion pounds.
The Basma Association said that the goal of the campaign is also to spread awareness about childhood cancer and the importance of its role in securing quality treatment opportunities for every affected child to get his full chance of recovery, which exceeds 95 percent globally.
The Basma Association, which was establishment in April 2006, currently provides its services to more than 700 children from different governorates.
The Basma Association has reached more than 8,400 children until the end of2020.
The Basma Association succeeded in establishing in 2009 an integrated unit for treating children with cancer at Al-BiruniHospital.
