The Council of the Russian Federation forms a delegation to accompany the presidential election process in Syria

Moscow (ST): The President of the International Committee in the Council of the Russian Federation, Grigory Karasin announced that the Council will form a delegation to attend the presidential election process in Syria, according to an official invitation in this regard.

Two days ago, the People’s Assembly agreed by a  majority during the eleventh session of the second special session to invite some parliaments of brotherly and friendly countries to accompany the election of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic and to be informed of its course.

Karasin told Sputnik today “We have received an official invitation from the Syrian side to follow up the progress of the presidential elections in Syria, and we will form a group of observers at a later time”. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced earlier today that Moscow is ready to send observers for the presidential elections in Syria.
