Bidya: No country has the right to interfere in the presidential elections in Syria

 On April 29th, Assistant Head of the Department of West Asian Studies at India’s Jawaharlal Nehru University Dr. Sima Bidya said that the presidential elections in Syria are a constitutional entitlement and a sovereign right of the Syrian people that the United States or any other country has no right to interfere in.

“The Syrian people have the right to participate in the presidential elections that were legislated by the constitution, and the United States has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of their country,” Bidya said.

“This interference is evidence of the failure of the plans to overthrow the Syrian state,”Bidya said.

In her speech, Bidya referred to the sabotaging  role that the United States and its allies have played in Syria since 2011.
