On April 28th, former Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour confirmed that the presidential elections in Syria scheduled for the 26th of next May are a Syrian national, sovereign affair par excellence.
Mansour said in an interview with SANA’s correspondent in Beirut that the elections are an opportunity for the Syrian citizens to say their word after the dirty terrorist war imposed on Syria.
In turn, member of the Central Command of the Arab Progressive Baath Party, director of the Jordanian Government Hospital in Karak Dr. Muadh Al-Maaytah said that the presidential elections in Syria confirm that they are continuing with their choice to achieve stability.
Maaytah said that the elections come in difficult circumstances that the Syrian Arab Republic is going through as a result of the ongoing aggression and unjust economic blockade, despite the doubts by the hostile and puppet forces of the legitimacy of these elections.
Maayta noted that the Syrian Arab people have stood again behind their leadership, to confirm that Syria continues its choice to achieve stability.
In turn, Dr. Saeed Diab, Secretary-General of the Jordanian People’s Democratic Unity Party, affirmed that the Syrian presidential elections are of exceptional importance, as they come after years of war waged by the Syrian Arab Army against terrorism.
The Syrian Arab Army succeeded in liberating the greater part of the Syrian territories and preserving Syria’s unity.
In turn, Assistant Head of the Department of West Asian Studies at India’s Jawaharlal Nehru UniversityDr. Sima Bidya said that the Syrian people have the right to hold and participate in the presidential elections that were legislated by the constitution.
Bidya pointed to the destructive role that the United States and its allies have played since 2011 within the policy of regime change.
Bidya said that the presidential elections are a historic event that the Syrian people await within a democratic process led by the Syrians themselves.
For his part, the secretary general of the Palestinian Solidarity Forum in India Fayrouz Mitiburwala affirmed his confidence in the awareness and courage of the Syrian people in defeating terrorism and liberating their country from terrorists.
He pointed to the support of the United States of America, “Israel”, Turkey, Britain and France for terrorist organizations to target the Syrian state.
Commenting on the upcoming presidential elections in Syria, Fayrouz said: “I was in Syria during the last presidential elections that were held in 2014 and I witnessed the great courage of the Syrian people who came out and voted in great numbers despite terrorist threats.”
He expressed his confidence that these people will participate by exercising their right to vote in large numbers showing their commitment to the issues of their homeland.
