Former Indian diplomat: the solution in Syria is in making the Syrians decide the future of their country

New Delhi,(ST)-Former Indian diplomat, Ambassador Rajan Abeanker confirmed that the presidential election procedure confirms the Syrians’ adherence to their independence and their rejection of any external interference in the affairs of their country.

“The Syrian people have paid a heavy price as a result of the war imposed on them, the Western interventions and the attacks launched by the Turkish regime on its lands,” Rajan Abeanker said during an interview with SANA’s correspondent in New Delhi, saying that the solution in Syria is when the Syrians themselves decide the future of their country and the commitment of international parties to provide conditions  for the reconstruction of Syria and the expulsion of the American and Turkish occupation forces from their lands.

It is noteworthy that Abianker worked as India’s ambassador to Syria and visited it several times after his retirement. He also wrote a book entitled “Syria: The Tragedy of the State,” which was published this year and was very popular among intellectuals, media professionals and politicians, due to its detailed historical overview of Syria and the global conspiracy that it was subjected to.

In turn, journalist Sanjay Kapoor, editor-in-chief of Hard News magazine, affirmed that the upcoming presidential elections will enhance the democratic situation in Syria and contribute to the consolidation of political and security stability in it.

In a similar interview, Kapoor said that the implementation of this entitlement represents an important achievement in Syria’s fight against the takfiri forces that wanted to dismantle this country and destroy its civilization, stressing that external forces must stop interfering in Syria’s internal affairs and supporting terrorists, financing and arming them. American and Turkish occupation forces must withdraw  from the Syrian lands, he said , expressing his confidence that the victory of Syria is near.
