Lebanese politician: Presidential elections in Syria a key part of the Syrian people’s war on terrorism

The Regional Secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party in Lebanon Numan Shalak has affirmed that the forthcoming presidential elections in Syria are a constitutional process and a key part of the war the Syrian people are waging against terrorism and its tools.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Beirut, Shalak said that it is the right of the Syrian people to decide the future of their country through participating in the presidential elections, pointing out that Syria has faced international terrorism and a global conspiracy because of its honorable national stances and it has managed to foil this conspiracy and defeat terrorism in most Syrian areas thanks to the Syrian people’s steadfastness, to the sacrifices of the Syrian army and to the country’s wise leadership.
