Shulgin: The Western decision against Syria in the OPCW is disastrous

The Hague (ST): Russia’s permanent representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Alexander Shulgin has emphasized that the illegal decision that was passed in the Organization against Syria by Western countries was a “catastrophic” warning of the adverse consequences of  the decision, especially on the independence of the Organization, “which turned into a tool for political pressure on certain states.

Commenting on the decision, Shulgin said in a statement to TASS that the OPCW  has turned into a tool for political pressure against unwanted countries, adding that by passing this resolution, the Organization is being used by the West as a political tool against countries that do not follow their commands in an attempt to portray them as undesirable states.

Shulgin indicated that the countries of the West, especially the United States, France and Britain, use the Organization as a tool to achieve their political agendas in the world, recalling that the (OPCW) is of a technical nature in origin, as it was formed to destroy the stockpiles of chemical weapons existing in the world and to create the necessary conditions not to recycle such types of weapons of mass destruction in the future.
