Beirut (ST): The Greek Orthodox and Syriac Orthodox Patriarchies of Antioch and the Whole East have demanded the disclosure of the fate of Archbishop Paul Yazji, Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Aleppo, and Youhanna Ibrahim, Bishop of Aleppo for the Syriac Orthodox, who were kidnapped by terrorist organizations.
In a joint statement on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of their abduction, the two patriarchies said that they put the case before local and international public opinion, noting that they have resorted to all the diplomatic, security, political, social and other channels without reaching any result until now, stressing the need to uncover their fate and hold the perpetrators accountable.
An armed terrorist group kidnapped Archbishops Yazji and Ibrahim on April 22, 2013, while they were carrying out humanitarian operations in the village of Kafr Dael in the countryside of Aleppo.
