Within the framework of the “ Syrian Family Days” campaign , which was launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, “ Al-Sanawbar” Association for the protection of the environment held an event in the village of Al-Maqarmada in the countryside of Tartous.
The seven-day event included an exhibition on rural women’s products and a special symposium on social relations and the need for consolidating communication and cooperation relations among the community’s members.
Head of the association and the event organizer Jumana Harfoush told SANA that the exhibition displayed various natural products by a number of rural women including a verity of food items including different kinds of juices such as berries, pomegranates, roses, apple cider vinegar in addition to strawberry , apples and quince jam .
The exhibition also included pickles , ready-to-eat food , dairy products, grains , natural herbs, handicrafts industries as well as several products of a rural woman who has a commercial license to manufacture shampoo from natural materials.
Harfouch pointed out that the exhibition witnessed a remarkable turnout of citizens, especially for shampoo products and food industries.
During the symposium , the retired teacher Nawar Harfoush referred to the importance of social relations and the need to increase communication between citizens to preserve customs and traditions of the countryside.
She stressed the need to preserve the environment and invest its resources in an ideal way.
Harfoush indicated to SANA that the rural women ,who attended the symposium , expressed their concerns, which centered on securing a safe life for their children , stressing the importance of continuing education and deep belonging to the land and supporting them to invest the best natural resources.
