Al-Miqdad, to a delegation from the World Food Program (WFP): There is a need to reach humanitarian aid for the needy people without politicization

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad discussed on Wednesday with the head of the operations department at the main office of the World Food Program (WFP), Amer Al-Daoudi and the accompanying delegation, means of cooperation between the Syrian government and the WFP.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Miqdad praised the efforts made by the WFP in Syria and the humanitarian aid that it provides to the Syrians. He stressed the need for humanitarian aid to reach those who deserve it and for it not to be politicized by some countries, in compliance with the principles of humanitarian work.

Minister Al-Miqdad referred to the difficult economic and living conditions to which the Syrian people are exposed, resulting from the harsh negative effects of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on them by Western countries, led by the United States. He stressed the need for a concerted sincere efforts to stand by the Syrian people in their difficult ordeal.

Meanwhile, Al-Daoudi expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided by the Syrian government to the World Food Program (WFP), praising the cooperation is being between the two sides. 

Al-Daoudi stressed the need to work to alleviate the difficult economic conditions that the Syrian people are going through.

The meeting was attended by the Syrian side, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Milad Attia, Director of the Department of InternationalOrganizations and Conferences and other VIPpersonalities.
