Rouhani: The militarization of the region will not help solve its problems

Tehran (ST): Iranian President Hassan Rouhani affirmed that the militarization of the region will not help solve its problems, stressing that the dangers facing the region stem from the Israeli entity.

The Iranian presidency quoted Rouhani as saying during a phone call with the Emir of the Sheikhdom of Qatar, Tamim in Hamad Al Thani, that ensuring regional security and peace can only be achieved by peaceful means and through states assuming their responsibilities and securing collective interests and not through the militarization of the region, stressing the necessity of resolving regional crises through dialogue, including  the Yemeni crisis.

He pointed out that the Israeli entity  poses grave threats to the region.

Rouhani reiterated that the only solution to revive the nuclear deal is to lift the American embargo and Washington’s return to abide by the agreement and implement Resolution 2231. He  indicated that then Iran will return to implement its obligations in the agreement after Washington’s return to it and the lifting of the embargo.

Rouhani expressed  hope that the Americans realize that the embargo and pressure are not the correct mechanism for dealing with Iran.
