The International Conference on Digital Transformation kicks off today

Damascus (ST): The works of the third session of the International Conference on Digital Transformation was launched this morning under the title of  “Syria and Digital Transformation,  Opportunities and Challenges” with the participation of a number of economic and social activities from Arab and foreign countries at the Conferences Palace in Damascus.

The conference, which will last until the 11th of this month, aims to create opportunities for investment and success, identify obstacles to implementation and mechanisms to overcome them, review the problems and obstacles of the host country in the field of digital transformation, in addition to attracting experts supervising digital transformation in the best electronic governments to benefit from their expertise through interactive lectures that will be held within the conference activities.

In a statement, Assistant Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Fadia Suleiman indicated that the conference is a scientific, professional and periodic forum that brings together researchers and experts in the field of digital transformation with decision-makers and investors and works to consolidate international work to achieve success in the digital transformation of countries and to shed light on the latest developments in the field of technology. 

Suleiman indicated that the conference includes several axes for discussion and dialogue, including the digital transformation in Syria between opportunities and challenges, the strategy of digital transformation in Syria, reality, prospects, and digital transformation in the Arab region, policies, indicators, digital economy, the dangers of the shadow economy, information security, and its importance.

According to Suleiman, experts from the Arab region and foreigners, executives and business councils, in addition to research bodies and centers, will participate in the conference, and it includes a scientific committee composed of the best academics and specialists in the field of digital, economic, and law transformation.

The first session of the International Conference on Digital Transformation was held in the UAE in 2017 and the second in Egypt in 2018.
