Palestinian Prisoners’ Club: 146 children live in catastrophic conditions in the occupation detention camps
Occupied Jerusalem (ST): The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club has affirmed that the Israeli occupatiocontinues in detaining 146 children in clear violation of international law and conventions on children’s rights, calling on the international community to put pressure on the occupation to halt its crimes against them and release them.
Wafa news agency quoted the Club as saying in a report on the occasion of the Palestinian Child’s Day, which falls on April 5, that the occupation authorities have arrested 230 children, most of them from occupied Jerusalem, since the beginning of this year, indicating that they continue to arrest 146 children in catastrophic conditions.
The report pointed out that the occupation is committing grave violations against child prisoners from the moment of their arrest, as they are subjected to psychological and physical torture and are deprived of their right to education, and their right to be cared for by their families, especially the sick and wounded, noting that children who were injured by the occupation bullets or who suffer from diseases face another crime in the occupation prisons, which is deliberate medical negligence.
