Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinians on Tuesday commemorate the 45th anniversary of Land Day, which falls on the 30th of March of each year, with various demonstrations and events confirming their adherence to their land and resistance to the Israeli occupation.
Wafa News Agency reported that, Palestinians in the occupied territories in 1948 are commemorating Land Day through demonstrations in the towns of Sakhnin, Araba, Deir Hanna, Kafr Kanna and Taybeh, in protest against the occupation’s crimes and racist practices towards the Palestinian people. Wreaths of flowers will be put on the tombs of the martyrs of Land Day.
Several events will be held in the cities and towns of the West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip, and thousands of trees will be planted in the villages of the northern Valley of Jordan and Nablus, which the occupation authorities threaten to take over.
The Palestinians launched a campaign on social media under the title “all the Land is Palestine”, which includes displaying media materials documenting the occupation crimes against the Palestinians, in order to mobilize the largest international support for the justice of the Palestinian cause.
The events of Land Day go back to the year 1976, when demonstrations swept across the Palestinian cities and villages in protest against the occupation authorities’ seizure of 21,000 dunams of lands in the city of Galilee in the Palestinian territories occupied since1948.The occupation forces suppressed these demonstrations with bullets, which led to the death of a number of Palestinians and the wounding and arrest of hundreds.
