Minister of Education: The educational process continues with complete adherence to measures to combat Corona

 

 

 

Damascus (ST):  The Minister of Education, Dr. DaremTabba’a has affirmed the continuation of the educational process while adhering to health precautionary measures to address the Coronavirus pandemic, pointing at the same time to the ministry’s keenness to care for the safety of students and teachers.

In an interview with Al-Souriya TV channel, Taba’a said, “The educational process continues amid applying  precautionary health measures in accordance with the health protocol followed to combat the pandemic, and if there is a need to close schools, nothing prevents that,” indicating that the situation in schools is under control in relation to the number of infections in light of the measures taken by government in this regard.

 

Tabba’a also referred to the concern for the safety of students, teachers and workers in the educational sector, indicating that the health personnel in the ministry are fully alert and are taking steps  to apply precautionary measures to address the pandemic, especially the distribution of sterilizers and following the sound health rules.

The Minister added that the spread of disease is confined to specific groups, noting that two days ago, the Ministry of Education sent teams from school health departments to schools to ensure that precautionary measures were implemented in them.

Concluding his statement, Tabba’a said that the ministry is currently conducting training courses for health counselors in cooperation with the World Health Organization to control the spread of the disease.
