FIA Arab Federation condemns economic terrorism that targets Syrians

The Federation of Argentine and Arab Institutions “FIA Arab” condemned the economic terrorism practiced against Syria through unilateral Western coercive measures targeting the Syrian people.

“These illegal measures aim at starving the Syrian people, obstructing the reconstruction in Syria and destabilizing the country,” the Federation said in a statement.

The Federation affirmed its support for Syria in preserving its territorial integrity and national sovereignty and in defending its national economy in the face of American and Western economic terrorism and blockade. It called on the Argentine government, by virtue of its historical role in support of the values of justice and the rights of peoples, to defend international legitimacy and work in international forums to confront the economic terrorism practiced against Syria and its people.

In its statement, the Federation condemned the presence of foreign forces on Syrian lands and the operations of looting and theft of Syrian resources, especially oil, stressing that this represents a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

It condemned the repeated Israeli and American attacks on Syrian lands as well as the obstacles imposed by Western powers on the Syrian refugees to prevent their return to their homeland.
