The Russian Military and Diplomatic Cadet School in Moscow held a cultural event on Friday titled “Syria’s Sky” to highlight Syria’s history and the successive civilizations that were formed on the Syrian land and that played a key role in enriching human civilization.
The event focused on historical eras in Syria which indicate that Syria has been the center of civilizations that attracted peoples seeking knowledge from all over the world to acquire deep cultural traditions that helped them integrate into the Syrian homeland.
Organizers of the cultural activity clarified that Syria’s strategic position has made it the target of invasions throughout ages, including by the Moguls, the Tatars, the Ottomans and the European colonialists, and currently by the NATO invaders who have been sparing no means to undermine the Syrian state and weaken the Syrian people.
The organizers also pointed out that recruiting takfiri terrorists and armed militias have been the most recent innovations by the U.S. and its allies in the region to fight Syria, stressing that Syria, as people, leadership and army, is immune against terrorists.

Participants in the event presented different artistic activities, including popular and patriotic songs performed by the joint musical band in Arabic and Russian as wll as a documentary about the foreign-backed terrorist war on Syria and the Syrian Arab Army’s heroism in the battle against takfiri terrorism.
The event also included a painting exhibition depicting the Syrian traditional costumes and folklore. These artworks are the production of the fathers and grandfathers of the school cadets who through their paintings expressed their admiration and love for Syria and showed the deep friendship between the Syrian and Russian peoples.
Concluding the event, Syria’s Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad thanked the organizers for the efforts exerted to clarify the terrorist war facing Syria and enhance the historical friendship between the two countries.
He hailed the sacrifices of the Russian armed forces in the battle against takfiri terrorism in Syria alongside the Syrian Arab Army, reiterating that the Russian Army has offered martyrs in defense of the entire human civilization not only in defense of Syria and Russia.
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow, the Charge de Affairs of the Cadets School, Major General Alexi Sevkin said that the Syrian-Russian military cooperation in the fight against international terrorism will bring peace to the entire world, reiterating that Syria will achieve complete victory over terrorism and will liberate all its territories thanks to the steadfastness of its people.
