On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the teachers of Syria affirmed that the fiercest war on the Syrian people was the war of thought and culture that, in its systematic ideological invasion, tried to target the minds of students to force them to adopt the approach of terrorism and extremism.
In a statement by the Executive Office of the Teachers Union on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the Union affirmed that the central role of the teachers during the war focused on confronting these misleading campaigns, its reactionary ideas and its despicable goals. The teachers played pivotal role in rebuilding the generation intellectually to be aware of its national causes and of adhering to the country’s soil and the noble values dedicated by President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad- the symbol of steadfastness and leader of the education march towards a bright future.
The Union pointed out that the ten years that have passed since the beginning of the unjust war on Syria and despite the tragic effects of the war on the nation’s infrastructure and the conditions left by the so-called “Caesar Law” to starve the Syrian Arab people, Syria is still resilient. This wonderful steadfastness indicated the Syrian people’s adherence to their leadership and preservation of the pride and the unity of theirhomeland.
The Union has exerted relentless efforts to serve the interests of teachers, achieve their aspirations, take careof their affairs and defend their rights, the Union stated, commending the grants offered by President BasharAl-Assad to teachers which express his love and appreciation for teachers who are the builders of generations and men in our beloved homeland.
The union added in its statement, “In these decisive historical moments in which we face the fateful challenges, we stand with pride with our beloved leader President Al-Assad and we express our love and loyalty to him on our Day. We also renew our pledge to continue supporting our army in preserving dignity, pride and independence of our homeland.”
