On March 15th, Sidon merchants closed their shops due to rising prices and deteriorating economic and living conditions.
The Lebanese National Media Agency reported that the shops in the Sidon commercial market witnessed a complete closure because of the high prices.
The Baalbek markets witnessed a decline in the trade movement and some shop owners closed to avoid further losses resulting from the rocketing increasing prices.
The Head of the Sidon Merchants Association Ali Al-Sharif sai that the announcement by some commercial establishments in the Sidon commercial market to temporarily close until the exchange rate stabilized.
Since the year 2019, Lebanon has witnessed protest movements against the deterioration of living and economic conditions, accompanied in many cases by road blocks and paralysis of transport between regions.
