Syria and Russia: Washington and its allies continue to obstruct the stability of the situation in Syria

Damascus(ST): The Syrian and Russian Coordination Committees on the return of  refugees affirmed that the United States continues to strangle the Syrian people economically by using various methods of economic and political pressure on international bodies and organizations to turn a blind eye to the dangerous consequences of the sanctions imposed on Syria.

The two committees said in a statement  that the United States and its allies continue by all means  to obstruct the stability of the situation in Syria, and all American statements about their will to provide aid to the Syrian people are untrue and these illegal sanctions against Syria completely suffocate its economy.

The statement pointed out that Washington and its allies are exercising various methods of economic and political pressure on many international bodies and organizations in order to close their eyes to the dangerous consequences of the sanctions imposed on Syria and the breach of its sovereignty, which only leads to exacerbating  the crisis of the displaced and increasing their numbers.

The two committees reiterated that the Syrian state continues to make great efforts to secure suitable and appropriate conditions for the return of the displaced, the rapid social adaptation of the returnees, and create job opportunities for them in the country despite the difficult economic situation. It also pays special attention to taking measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, fight terrorism and ward off its danger from safe areas and reconstruct industrial and agricultural facilities and infrastructure.

The two committees concluded their statement by affirming that the return of the legitimate Syrian authority to all the territories occupied by the US and its allies and the lifting of sanctions allow the settlement of the crisis in Syria and the return of security and stability to it.
