On March 10th, the Syrian Book Month exhibition was opened at the Culture Palace in the city of Sweida.
The 600-title exhibition witnessed a remarkable turnout for the big number of books with new and varied titles, in addition to benefiting from 60%- discounts on them.
The Syrian General Book Authority organized the 20-day exhibition to celebrate the Syrian Book Day with books from the Ministry of Culture’s publications, children’s publications, studies, science and science fiction.
The Director of Sweida Culture Basil Al-Hinnawi stated that the exhibition is part of the Ministry’s plan to encourage reading in cooperation with the Book Authority.
The exhibition coordinator and sales official, Suha Hamed, said that the exhibition receives its visitors from 9 a.m till 1 p.m .
He added that the exhibition witnessed a remarkable turnout on its first day, which confirms the popularity of the printed paper book and the pleasure of owning it among people.
