SIAMCO is gearing up to launch a new car

The Syrian-Iranian Automobile Manufacturing Company (SIAMCO) is gearing up to launch a new car to break the prices of cars in the Syrian local market.

This step comes after the issuance of recommendation by the Syrian economic committee at the Cabinet that allows the companies that work on assembling cars in Syria to import machines and equipment to three halls, according to Director General of Engineering Industries Asaad Wardeh.

Wardeeh pointed out that the talks recently held between the Syrian Ministry of Industry and a delegation representing Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) focused on the SIAMCO’s keenness on resuming production.

“The production will be resumed in two months and 1000 cars will be produced in one year with the aim of compensating the losses of the company,” he added.

The engineer made it clear that the company will finance the imported parts for cars via its private account and it will not depend on the Central Bank of Syria.

The car that SIAMCO will produce will be sold at cost with a small profit.
