Jaafari stresses importance of Palestinian national unity in confronting attempts to undermine rights of Palestinian people

During his meeting with Assistant Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine “General Command” Dr. Talal Naji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, discussed the historical and fateful relations linking Syria and Palestine.

Al-Jaafari affirmed that the leadership and people of Syria will continue to support the Palestinian cause to restore the Palestinian people’s legitimate and full rights, pointing out that the main goal behind the war on Syria and the unjust siege imposed on it is to weaken its pivotal role in defending Palestine, which Syria considers the central cause of the Arab nation.

Al-Jaafari highlighted the importance of Palestinian national unity in confronting the attempts to undermine the rights of the Palestinian people. He also pointed to the West’s attempts to eradicate Arab nationalist thought by finding alternatives, including spreading Islamist ideology, with the aim of changing the compass towards the Palestinian cause and empowering non-Arab regional powers in our region.

For his part, Naji affirmed that the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine “General Command” stands by Syria, pointing out that the Western conspiracy against Syria is targeting Palestine and the Arab nation.

Anwar Raja, a member in the Front’s Political Bureau underlined the common destiny of Syria and Palestine, indicating that Syria’s steadfastness in the face of Western attacks constitutes a turning point that thwarts the plans to undermine the Palestinian cause.
