Deputy PM in Al-Qseir: Government Allocates SYP 300mln to Rehabilitation Works

 AL-QSEIR, HOMS, (ST)-  Prime Minister for Services Affairs Omar Ghalawanji visited the city of al-Qseir in Homs countryside to inspect restoration and rehabilitation works being carried out in the city after the Syrian Arab Army had rid al-Qseir of terrorism and restored security and stability to the people there.

Ghalawanji, who was accompanied by a ministerial delegation comprising the ministers of electricity, health, water resources and public works, announced that the government transformed  (SYP) 300 million to Homs governorate with the purpose of distributing them on al-Qseir citizens in the form of in advance cash to help them restore their houses and shops damaged by the acts of the armed terrorist groups.

“The transformed money will be distributed as in advance cash on citizens with (SYP) 100 thousand for each one who seeks returning home,”  Ghalawanji said in a statement to journalists.

He pointed out that continuous restoration works indicate the workers determination to rebuild al-Qseir and rehabilitate its infrastructure, stressing that electricity and water will completely return to the city within days.

Ghalawanji stressed that the government is keen to provide citizens with necessary support and aid in order to help them return to their houses and to make their basic needs available.

For his part, Electricity Minister Emad Khamis explained that the damage caused to electricity network in al-Qseir is assessed at more than (SYP) 800mln and that maintenance works are being accelerated to ensure quick return of electricity to the city.

Ministers of health, public works and water resources stressed their keenness to press ahead with rehabilitation works so as the people of al-Qseir can return to their houses as soon as possible.
