Palestine welcomes the decision of the International Criminal Court to investigate into the Israeli occupation crimes

On March 3rd, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) stressed the importance of the announcement issued by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC)to open an investigation into war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories.

“This decision is a victory for humanity and respect for justice and international laws and covenants just as  it is a victory for the just Palestinian cause,” WAFA News Agency quoted a member of the PLO’s Executive Committee, Ahmed Saeed Al-Tamimi, as saying,

Al-Tamimi described the court’s decision as a “serious step” to prosecute the Israeli occupation and its leaders for their ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.

In turn, the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) considered that the court’s decision confirms the independence of the Palestinian decision that took this step despite the political and financial pressures and the siege that was practiced on it and is still being practiced by Israel.
