A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hits central Greece

Athens, (ST) – An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit on Wednesday central Greece, without any reports of human casualties.

“The earthquake occurred at a depth of ten kilometers and 20 kilometers south of the town of Alasuna in central Greece, without any reports of human casualties or material damage,” Reuters quoted the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center as saying.

In October last year a n earthquake struck the Aegean Sea off the coast of Greece with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale, killing two people and wounding eight.
