Moscow renews its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria

On March 1st, Russia reaffirmed its steadfast support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria, and its readiness to continue effectively assisting the Syrian people in combating international terrorism.

The Russian President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov met with the Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Riad Haddad.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides exchanged views on developments in the Middle East region, with a focus on the situation in Syria.

 

The statement said that the two sides focused on issues of cooperation between Syria and Russia for the reconstruction of Syria.

On February 24th, Bogdanov discussed with Ambassador Haddad the political solution to the crisis in Syria.
