The Ministry of Health continues giving Covid-19 vaccine to frontline health workers

The Ministry of Health continues for the second day to administer the “Covid 19” vaccine to health cadres who work on the frontlines within the health centers for treating “Covid 19” patients in different governorates.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Al-Ghobash, stated to SANA that the most vulnerable groups, who work in isolation centers, are currently being vaccinated, and the priority will be given for the elderly age group due to the limited supplies.

Al-Ghobash said that immunizing health workers ensures their protection and that they will be able to continue to provide health care, adding that the vaccine has been used in many countries and it has proven its efficiency, and receiving it will be optional.

The Minister stressed the necessity of commitment to the preventive measures, especially wearing masks, spatial distancing, and hand washing, as these measures have proven to be  successful  in curbing the outbreak of the pandemic and achieving a stable infection curve.

The Ministry of Health has monitored an increase in the trend of coronavirus infections in the recent period and the increase in suspected cases that are  being reviewed in hospitals, which calls for strictness in following preventive measures, especially since the countries of the world are facing new mutated strains of the coronavirus and Syria will not be immune from them.
