Russian Defense: The situation in Rukban camp deteriorates while America continues to forcibly detain refugees in it

The Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria confirmed that the situation in Al-Rukban camp continues to deteriorate, while the American leadership in the Al-Tanf region impedes solving this problem.

“The humanitarian situation in Rukban camp continues to deteriorate rapidly,” the deputy director of the Russian Center, Marine Major General Vyacheslav Sitnik, said in a statement on Friday. The American leadership in the Al-Tanf region is still obstructing solving this problem, as it takes additional measures to forcibly detain refugees there.

He added that “the Syrian authorities are ready to receive all citizens in Al-Rukban camp, guarantee their security and provide them with decent living conditions.”

He pointed out that “the reluctance of the United States to ensure the exit of the illegal armed formations and the displaced from Al-Tanf region confirms that they are concerned with preserving the mechanism of preparing extremists in order to preserve flashpoints of tension in Syria.
