Sweida Agriculture Directorate opens three field schools for organic agriculture

Within the framework of the plan to develop the agricultural situation in the governorate of Sweida, the Directorate of Agriculture in Sweida has opened three field schools for organic agriculture and the Good Agricultural Practices System Global Gap.

The Head of the directorate’s organic production department, Eng. Reham Morshed, said  that the schools include an olive school for the organic farming system in the village of Al-Swaimra, and two schools according to the Good Agricultural Practices System for apples in the village of Mutlaqah and almonds in Hazm village.

Engineer Morshed pointed to the importance of organic farming system schools to spread the concepts of this cultivation in order to mitigate the residual impact of pesticides and increase the marketing price of products.

She added  that training within these schools is conducted for farmers under the supervision of specialized engineers from the two departments of organic production and  agriculture guidance.
