A new forestation campaign, that included planting 3500 forest and fruit seedlings, was carried out on Friday in the Syrian city of Khan Shiekhoun in Idlib’s southern countryside which was liberated from terrorism by the Syrian Army in 2019.
Students, civil society and the Idleb Agriculture Directorate took part in the campaign.
The seedling for planting the green fence opposite to the Khan Sheikhoun city, along the Hama-Aleppo International Highway, and in a number of parks and gardens, were presented by a nursery in the city of Jableh in Lattakia countryside to help restore the green cover in this area.
The aim is to rehabilitate the areas affected by terrorism, fires, excessive logging, and to restore the green cover in Khan Sheikhoun, some participants in the campaign said, stressing the economic, environmental and touristic importance of trees.
