Israel to displace 140.000 Palestinians from Jerusalem

OCCUPIED Al-QUDS, (St)_The Israeli occupation authorities have announced a plan to set up new settlements in the occupied city of Jerusalem [Al-Quds]  and to displace more than 140.000 Palestinians.

This step comes within the framework of the Israeli occupation’s authorities’ plan to Judaize the city.

According to WAFA news agency, the Israeli occupation authorities announced that they will set up thousands of settlements and roads in the occupied  city of Jerusalem that aim at isolating  districts that are inhabited by 140.000 Palestinians in north, south and east sides of the city.

The Israeli occupation authorities will set up the new settlement units in strategic areas, mainly in the east of Al-Quds and Selfet and Nablus with the aim of connecting the settlements with each other and closing the road between Palestinians and their lands, according to Head of Popular Committee of Resisting Settlement and the Wall Salah Al-Khawaja .

Although Palestinians in East Jerusalem, a part of the internationally recognized Palestinian Territory, have been subject to Israeli occupation since 1967, they are denied their citizenship rights and are instead classified only as “residents” whose permits can be revoked if they move away from the city for more than a few years.
