The Kremlin: Russia will not tolerate anyone who interferes in its internal affairs

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that his country will not tolerate the issue of interference in its internal affairs, noting that the expulsion of a number of foreign diplomats last Friday is confirmation of this.

In a statement to reporters today, Peskov indicated that Moscow’s expulsion of those diplomats came as a result of measures taken by some foreign missions in Moscow against the backdrop of illegal demonstrations, stressing that Russia has clearly shown that it does not intend to tolerate in this behaviour.

In response to the statement of the Commissioner for Foreign Policy in the European Union, Josep Borrell, which he made after his return from Moscow that Russia is increasingly moving away from the European Union, Peskov said: “We were and still are interested in reviving relations with Brussels and we were not the initiators of their collapse. In order to build relations between us, we are categorically opposed to interfering in each other’s interests and using double standards. In this regard, we will act firmly, and no one should suspect that.

It is worth noting that the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion of three diplomats from the German, Swedish and Polish missions because of their participation in unauthorized demonstrations organized by supporters of activist Alexei Navalny.
