Locals in Al-Shaddadi area in Hasakah countryside demand expulsion of US-backed SDF militia

Locals in the Al-Rashidiyeh village in Al-Shaddadi area in Hasakah southern countryside took to the streets to protest against the crimes of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militia.

The protestors demanded the expulsion of this  militia from their area and called for putting an end to its crimes against locals, including the crimes of kidnapping youths and recruiting them within its ranks. They called for the immediate release of the youths who were forcibly taken by the SDF militia to fight alongside its fighters, according to local sources.

The sources added that the protestors burnt tires to close the roads and expelled several SDF-affiliated vehicles and cars from the village.

Over the past months, citizens in Hasakah and Deir Ezzor staged many demonstrations in condemnation of the US occupation-backed SDF militia’s criminal acts. During these protests, the SDF militants used live ammunition to disperse the protestors, killing and wounding many civilians.
