President of the Supreme Council of Churches in Palestine condemns the escalation of Israeli settlers’ attacks on churches

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): The President of the Supreme Council of Churches in Palestine, Ramzi Khoury, condemned the escalation of Israeli settlers’ attacks on churches in occupied Jerusalem.

WAFA news agency quoted Khoury as saying that the continued impunity for extremist settlers’ attacks against Islamic and Christian places of worship in the city of Jerusalem in particular heralds a catastrophic war, especially in light of the cover for settlers by the occupation forces, adding that since the beginning of the Israeli occupation,  the Christians and Muslims have been facing these attacks and violations.

Khoury called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and provide international protection for the Palestinians and their holy sites, holding the occupation authorities fully responsible for the escalation of settler attacks on Palestinian holy sites in Jerusalem and in other parts of the  occupied Palestinian territories, pointing out that these crimes will not deter the Palestinian people from their steadfastness and defense of their Islamic and Christian sanctities.

The camera recordings installed on one of the doors of the Romanian Orthodox Church in the Al-Misrara area in central occupied Jerusalem has shown an Israeli settler attack on the church.
