Palestinian Health Ministry to receive 10,000 doses of the Russian vaccine

Minister of Health Mai Al-kaila confirmed that 10,000 doses of the Russian Sputnik corona vaccine are expected to arrive today in Palestine, which will be enough to vaccinate 5,000 people.

She said in a statement that the government has also purchased two million doses of vaccines that are expected to arrive in Palestine between the 14th and 20th of this month and will be sufficient to vaccinate one million people.

 Donations from friendly countries, institutions supporting the Palestinian people, and Palestinian communities abroad are also expected in the near future, she said.

Alkaila said priority in the vaccination will be for medical staff, the elderly, and people with chronic diseases, and that the vaccination will take place in about 45 centers throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
