Syrian-Iraqi talks to enhance cooperation in the field of water resource management

On January 31st, the Iraqi Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, discussed with the Syrian ambassador to Baghdad, Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of water resources management.

Al-Hamdani and Al-Dandah emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in exceptional circumstances such as scarcity and floods and the continuation of holding meetings of the bilateral technical committees to discuss common issues regarding water resources.

They also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the field of studying and implementing water projects and transferring experiences on the topic of optimal use of groundwater and combating desertification.
