Politicians: The illegal intervention in Syria by the US and Turkish occupation is worrying

Head of the Socialist People’s Front in Lithuania “Gedras Pragusis” has stressed that the western aggression on Syria, whether through occupation or the creation of terrorist organizations like Daesh (ISIS) and other terror groups poses a threat to Syria and to the world security and stability.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow, Pragusis said that the United States and its allies attack the sovereignty of Syria and other countries that don’t acquiesce to their policies with the aim of imposing the logic of force in international relations and maintaining the American hegemony on the world in a blatant violation of international laws and conventions that call for preserving international peace and security.

He added that the American and Turkish occupation forces in Syria provide all forms of support to terrorists and separatists in order to prolong the occupation and steal the resources of the Syrian people. He stressed that the aggressive policy of NATO countries is the main threat to peoples’ freedom and independence and to the entire human civilization.

He indicated that the Syrian people and army, managed, with the help of the Russian and Iranian friends, to achieve important and significant progress in combating international terrorism, mainly Daesh terrorist organization.

On his part, Sergey Timokhov, Adviser of the Communist Representatives Bloc at the local State Duma in Moscow, affirmed that the illegal interference in Syria by the US and Turkish occupation is worrying.

He pointed out that the United States and its NATO allies do not care about the tragic situation that the Syrian people are suffering from as a result of the terrorism they have been subjected to and the critical health situation, especially in the light of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic in the world. He clarified that instead of providing humanitarian support to the Syrians in the reconstruction of their country, the United States and Turkey and their mercenaries are working to plunder Syria’s resources, noting that the Syrians are also being targeted by terrorist organizations that are loyal to these occupiers.
