European Union considers imposing sanctions on Russia over Navalny’s arrest

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias announced today that the European Union will consider next month the issue of imposing sanctions on Russia over the arrest of Russian politician Alexei Navalny.

Russian security forces arrested Navalny on the 17th of this month upon his arrival at Sheremetyevo airport from Germany, in implementation of a previous judicial order issued against him on charges of fraud.
