Al- Mikdad receives credentials of the United Nations Population Fund in Syria (UNFPA) representative in Syria

Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Foreign and Expatriates , Fayssal Al-Mikdad, on Wednesday received  the credentials of Eyad Nasr, the new resident representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Syria.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing cooperation and coordination between Syria and the UNFPA, and developing a strong and positive relation between the two parties through the adoption of mutual trust in all activities carried out by the Fund in Syria.

The UNFPA representativeNasr stressed the Fund’s interest in continuing to work and cooperate with the Syrian government in a way that contributes to achieving goals that go beyond direct humanitarian relief and help in improving citizens ’livelihood and the sustainability of working in the domains of health care and social support for the Fund’s programs.

Minister Al-Miqdad praised cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and wished the new resident representative success in his duties.  He stressed the importance of continuous coordination and cooperation with the Syrian government to ensure the achievement of the desired results of the Fund’s work and to increase the effectiveness of its activities in all Syrian regions.
