A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hits area on Syrian-Iraqi borders inside Syrian territory

Damascus,(ST)- The National Center for Earthquakes, said that an earthquake measuring 5.2 on Richter scale and deep of 10 km hit the area on Syrian-Iraqi borders inside Syrian territory at Sinjar mountains, 530 km away from Damascus.

According to the source, the tremor was preceded by another earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale, and a depth of 7 km at 12 noon and two minutes, as it occurred in the same area also at a place 540 km from Damascus.

SANA’s correspondents reported an earthquake that was felt by the residents of Hasaka and Deir Ezzor.
