Dr. Dayoub reviews with President of Iran University of Medical Sciences means of enhancing bilateral cooperation
Tehran (ST): Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Dr. Shafiq Dayoub discussed with the President of Iran University of Medical Sciences Dr. Jalil Kohpay Zadeh means of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the university and the medical, therapeutic and scientific centers in Syria and promoting them to reach the level of distinguished strategic political relations between the two sides.
Ambassador Dayoub pointed out that terrorism has targeted the infrastructure of the health sector in Syria over the years of the war, and the state is working with all its capabilities to secure medical, medicinal and therapeutic supplies for citizens and restore what has been destroyed by terrorism, stressing that from here comes the importance of bilateral cooperation and the exchange of experiences in this important sector because both sides have potentials that complement each other, particularly since the two countries are being subjected to unfair sanctions and coercive measures in various fields, especially the health sector, in light of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.
Ambassador Dayoub underlined the importance of significant cooperation in the medical and therapeutic field, especially medical education, dentistry, pharmacy, postgraduate courses, nursing, rehabilitation and psychiatry.
For his part, Dr. Kohpay Zadeh reiterated the readiness of Iran University of Medical Sciences to provide its educational, therapeutic and medical services to the Syrian side and to work with the therapeutic sectors in Syria.
He added that the unfair war on Syria has greatly damaged the health infrastructure there, and that there are various domains for cooperation to overcome the challenges and the adverse consequences of that war.
