Eng. Basem Mansour, Director General of Civil Aviation, said in a statement that the return of Aleppo International Airport to work comes in implementation of the decision of the cabinet after it temporarily stopped working due to the Corona pandemic.
He added that a Syrian plane arrived today from Beirut International Airport and will return from Aleppo Airport to Beirut Airport, referring to the preventive measures taken at the airport to ensure the safety of travelers from the Coronavirus.
Mansour pointed out that the airport’s return to work and the resumption of air traffic in neighboring countries contributes to the rotation of the economy and restoration of the tourist city of Aleppo.
Dr. Salwa Ibrahim, Director of the Health Center at Aleppo International Airport, indicated that all appropriate measures have been taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus in accordance with the protocol approved by the World Health Organization and the Civil Aviation Organization, whose instructions include conducting thermal examination for travelers and testing the “PCR” within a period of 96 hours.
Engineer Talal Khudair, head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Tourism pointed out that the arrival of the first plane to Aleppo International Airport is an important indicator of the return of economic movement in the governorate, in addition to contributing to reviving the tourism sector in Aleppo.
A number of passengers arriving on the plane expressed their happiness over the return of the airport traffic to work, which comes after the return of security and safety to the city and its victory over terrorism.
