Protests in Qameshli against the practices of the Turkish occupation forces and the US-backed SDF militia

Locals in the neighborhood of Tai in Qameshli city on Saturday took to the streets to protest against the Turkish occupation and the practices of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militia that has been besieging the neighborhood, preventing the delivery of food materials to the locals and blocking medical services, thereby threatening with a humanitarian disaster.

The SDF militia has been besieging the neighborhoods of Tai and Halko in Qamishli and preventing the delivery of food materials in order to pressure the locals and force them to comply with the militia’s criminal practices.

The protesters renewed their rejection of the Turkish occupation, which, in cooperation with its mercenaries, steals lands, loots agricultural crops, burns agricultural fields and attacks civilians, infrastructure and service facilities, especially water and electricity networks, on a daily basis.

One of the protesters said that the locals in Tai neighborhood have been under the SDF militia’s siege over the past seven days, describing the siege as a cowardly act and stressing that the locals in Tai will continue to be adherent to their homeland and to support the Syrian Arab Army in its efforts to rid the Syrian people of terrorism.
