Sayyed Khamenei: The US has been trying to destabilize the region

Tehran (ST): The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran  Sayyed Ayatollah Khamenei has reiterated that the US has been trying to destabilize the region. 

In a speech he made on the anniversary of the Qum city revolt against the Shah regime in 1978, Khamenei said that the US has been working to destabilize West Asia region, noting that what the US has been trying to execute in Iran for more than ten years is now rebounding on it.

He added that the alleged American values of democracy and human rights is a mockery of public opinion  as the American economy suffers from complete paralysis.

As regards the sanctions imposed on Iran, Khamenei stressed the necessity of strengthening the Iranian economy to make these sanctions useless and overcome all obstacles.

Regarding the nuclear deal, the spiritual leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran said that Iran abandoned some of its commitments and enriched uranium at a rate of 20% , noting that Iran was not eager for the return of the US to the nuclear deal.
