Israel seizes 700 dunums of Palestinian lands in north Jerusalem

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, (ST)_The Israeli Occupation Authorities have seized 700 Dunums of Palestinian lands in Beit Hnina, Hazma and Jab’a areas to the north of the occupied Al-Quds [Jerusalem] with the aim of Judaizing them.

The PLO’s National Office for the Defense of Land and Resistance of Settlement has made it clear that the Israeli occupation authorities have escalated their settlement plans over the past four years exploiting the presidency of Donald Trump.

“21.000 new settlements  have been set up in three years [ 2017, 2018, 2019]. However, in the year 2020, the Israeli occupation authorities intensified the settlement plans, especially in occupied Al-Quds,  where they announced plans to set up more than 20.000 settlement units  to isolate Al-Quds from the towns of the West Bank in order to undermine any way to establish an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital,” the office said.

For his part, Director of International Jerusalem Center Hasan Khater asserted that the Israeli occupation authorities are carrying out 3 Judaization plans in the north of the occupied Al-Quds.

“During the first plan, 9000 settlement units will be set up in Qalendia area, while in the  second plan thousands of dunums in the districts of WAdi Al-Joz, Mesrara and Sheikh Jrah well be seized  and 200 shops  will be demolished. The third one aims to Judaize a large area of lands in Beit Hnina, Hazma and Jaba’a to isolate Jerusalem from the West Bank,” he added.

Director of Wadi Helweh Information Center Jawad Seyam said that during last year the Israeli occupation authorities destroyed 193 houses and trade establishments , arrested 2000 Palestinians because they confronted the judaization measures , and deported 375 Palestinian from Al-Quds as they confronted the Israeli settlers who stormed al-Aqsa Mosque.

He pointed out that 18.000 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in 2020 under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
