Lebanese Security forces foil Daesh terrorist plan

Beirut (ST): The Lebanese Security forces have foiled a terrorist plan for Daesh(ISIS) organization in Beirut.

The statement released by the Lebanese security sources said that a Syrian terrorist belonging to Daesh was arrested today, noting that he confessed that he was planning to carry out a terrorist attack against a Lebanese military position in one of Beirut suburbs.

The statement added that during the interrogations, the terrorist said that he entered Lebanon in 2017 from Al-Masna’ area and he was an activist on social media websites following up Daesh organization news. Two months ago, the terrorist added, he contacted two terrorists from Daesh in Syria Abu Omar and Abu al-Khattab, who informed him of a plan to carry out a terrorist operation in Lebanon and asked him to bring an explosive belt, bombs and other weapons, but he was detained before obtaining them.
