WHO: Corona infections in the world record highest level last week

The World Health Organization announced that it recorded the highest weekly level of new infections with Coronavirus last week since the start of the pandemic, noting that half of them were in North and South America.

Reuters quoted the organization as saying in its weekly epidemiological report, “The new cases increased by 6 percent – about 4.6 million infections, during the past week. The  death rate rose 4 percent- about 79 thousand, in the same week. The increase in infections this month comes as hopes are increasing with the start of vaccination operations in some countries.
