Entitled (With All Love from Russia), Distributing 55 tons of foodstuffs to a thousand families in Rural Damascus

Under the title “With love from Russia,” the Russian-Syrian Business Council, in cooperation with the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized an event in which it distributed 55 tons of foodstuff to a thousand needy families in Damascus countryside.

A number of beneficiaries expressed the importance of the charitable activities organized by the Russian-Syrian Business Council to support the needy citizens, especially in light of the unjust siege imposed on Syria.

Fadia Khoury, a beneficiary, said that she has benefited more than once, expressing her thanks to the organizers of the event.

Yusef Jamil Allam and Samir Shaheen referred to the need to expand such initiatives to include the largest number of families in the governorate, noting at the same time the efforts made by the Russian-Syrian Business Council and the Damascus Countryside Governorate to support needy families and include them in development projects that contribute to raising their standard of living.

The Governor of Damascus Countryside, Eng. Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, affirmed the governorate’s keenness to support charitable initiatives and provide everything necessary to help citizens with their livelihood.

The Head of the Russian-Syrian Business Council, Dr. Luay Youssef indicated that this is the eighth event that is being carried out this year in the countryside of Damascus.

He said that the event will continue for three days to include all families nominated by the NGOs in the governorate.

The Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Syria, Nikolai Sikhov, confirmed that there are many initiatives coming that include other families in other governorates.

He said that these initiatives are a kind of continuous temporary support with the participation of the aforementioned institutions.
