India’s Communist Party reaffirms support for Syria’s war on terrorism

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has affirmed its support for Syria in its war on terrorism and on the imperialist forces supporting it.

The Party’s Secretary Doraisamy Raja, during his meeting on Friday with Syria’s Ambassador to India Riad Abbas, hailed Syria’s firm stances and adherence to its principles represented in rejecting western dictates, respecting countries’ sovereignty and non-interfering in the internal affairs of other countries.

He pointed out that many countries of the world, including India, have not been spared from the west’s attempts to interfere in their affairs, to impose of a unipolar policy and use cross-border terrorism as a pressure card to force these countries to submit to its schemes.

 Raja talked about the political role played by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in enhancing India’s relations with other countries of the world and in maintaining its unbiased stances.

He noted the historical ties that link India to the countries of the Middle East region, especially Syria.

On his part, the Syrian Ambassador reviewed the political developments in Syria and the region, stressing Syria’s determination to confront the conspiracy hatched against it by the imperialist western powers, led by the United States, that are implementing their agendas and schemes targeting Syria’s position that rejects the imposition and implementation of Western schemes in the region.

Abbas expressed his hope that cooperation between the governments of India and Syria will be strengthened, urging more mutual visits by political and parliamentary delegations.
